What a memorable match it turned out to be. On display was outstanding teamwork and miraculous individual performances from both teams which brought memorable and exciting Cricketing moments to be remembered for a long time to come.

Both teams, Team Saurashtra and Team Gujarat played the match with great confidence and determination on one of the best Pitches for a Five Day Match. The match truly had See-Saw challenges till the last session of the match. On Day One, Gujarat won the toss and invited Saurashtra to bat first. First innings of Saurashtra witnessed exceptional Ton by Sheldon Jackson which took Team Saurashtra to the score of 304 all out in First Innings. Arzan Nagwaswalla took 5 wickets in the innings. Team Gujarat scored 252 All out in first innings after losing 6 quick wickets. Chintan Gaja came to his team’s rescue by scoring 61 runs. Skipper Jaydev Unadkat claimed 3 wickets while Chetan Sakariya, Chirag Jani and Dharmendrasinh Jadeja took 2 each. Team Saurashtra had a very shaky start in their second innings by losing 5 quick wickets in merely 15 runs. Then came the partnership between Chetan Sakariya & Arpit Vasavada who added 90 runs for  6^th wicket & between Arpit Vasavada & Chirag Jani who added 109 runs for 7^th wicket. Arpit Vasavada stood strong and scored 139 invaluable runs. His ton was well complimented by Chirag Jani’s 51, Chetan Sakariya’s 45 (a match defining score by a tail-ender who proved his batting prowess) and Dharmendrasinh Jadeja’s quick 21 runs.  Saurashtra scored 274 runs all out in their second innings. While Arpit Vasavada, Chirag Jani and Chetan Sakariya were saviors for Team Saurashtra, Chintan Gaja was the Terminator from Team Gujarat. He claimed seven wickets.

Gujarat got a target of 327 runs to win. After quick five wickets, Skipper Parthiv Patel and Chirag Gandhi came to the rescue of their team. Parthiv scored 93 while Chirag made 96. Both added 158 runs in for the 6^th wicket. Then, Skipper Jaydev Unadkat with his magical spell changed the complexion of Game to his team’s favour. From  221 for 5 Gujarat were all out for  234. Jaydev Unadkat claimed 7 wickets in the innings, for a match all of 10 wickets. This is his 18^th 5 plus haul  in Ranji Trophy innings; and has done 7^th times in this season. Enroute to 65 wickets  so far he has become highest wicket taker for Saurashta in a Season of prestigious Ranji Trophy. He is just 4 wickets away from breaking the record of being highest wicket taker in  a season of Ranji Trophy.

Saurashtra won the match by 92 runs to enter Final Match of Ranji Trophy 2019-20 to be played against Bengal from 9^th March 2020 at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium Rajkot. Arpit Vasavada was declared Man of the Match.

Both teams, Team Saurashtra & Team Gujarat deserve all accolades & laurels for their breathtaking, outstanding and noteworthy performances & playing one of the best Semi Final matches in the history of Ranji Trophy.

This is for the fourth time Team Saurashtra has entered Final of Ranji Trophy. Earlier it was in 2012-13, 2015-16 and 2018-19.
