Saurashtra Cricket Association’s Saurashtra Premier League T20 Tournament is being played at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium. The tournament was played from 14th to 22nd May 2019.


Final match of SPL 2019 played between Sorath Lions vs Zalawad Royals from 7:30 p.m. onwards. Captain Cheteshwar Pujara of Zalawad Royals won the toss and elected to field. Sorath Lions scored 158 runs for loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Himalay Barad scored 83 runs in 59 balls with 8 fours and 3 sixes. Aryandev Jhala scored 25. Sagar Jogiyani made 17. Devang Karamta took 3 wickets in 4 overs with 1 maiden giving away 28 runs. Kishan Kugasiya took 2 wickets. Karan Patel took 1 wicket.


Chasing 159 runs to win, Zalawad Royals scored 153 runs for loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Samarth Vyas scored 51 runs in 33 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes. Sheldon Jackson scored 47 runs in 35 balls with 8 fours. Skipper Chetheshwar Pujara socred 30 runs. Chetan Sakariya took 3 wickets, as hat-trick in 4 overs giving 27 runs. Chirag Jani took 2 wickets. Dharmendrasinh Jadeja and Prabhu Sindhav took 1 wicket each.


Sorath Lions won the match by 5 runs.


It has been overwhelming response and had more than 21000 spectators in finals. And that is one of the records in Premier Leagues matches.


Chetan Sakariya was declared Man of the Series for his outstanding performance in the tournament. He took 12 wickets in the tournament including Hat-trick.


Himalay Barad was declared Man of the Match for scoring 83 runs in 59 balls


Shri Vajubhai Vala, Hon’ble Governor of Karnataka has graced the final match as Chief Guest and in Presentation/Closing Ceremony. Hon’ble Governor alongwith Shri Niranjan Shah former Hon. Secretary of BCCI presented the Trophy to captain of the Winning Team Sagar Jogiyani. Shri Vajubhai presented runners up prize money to the Captain Cheteshwar Pujara. Jaydev Shah, former Captain of Saurashtra’s Senior teams presented Man of the Match Award to Himalay Barad.


Presentation was followed by exceptional fireworks.
