First ever Night Cricket Academy in Saurashtra is inaugurated in Bhavnagar on 17th December 2017.

Cricket Academy Sanskar Mandal, Bhavnagar opened up Night Cricket Academy in Bhavnagar. Former Hon. Secretary of BCCI and Saurashtra Cricket Association Shri Niranjan Shah was the Chief Guest and he inaugurated the Night Cricket Academy in presence of former Ranji Trophy players, present and upcoming cricketers, dignitaries and guests.

Niranjan Shah in his speech appreciated the Academy and also to all those who have been putting all good efforts. He stated that thanks to such Cricket Academies, Cricket Camps all across Saurashtra, Cricket of Saurashtra has flourished and has become very competitive. He added that it is pride of Saurashtra that at present, three of its players, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja and Jaydev Unadkat are part of Team India for International Cricket. Harvik Desai being selected in Team India for Under 19 World Cup is another feather in the cap of Saurashtra. Mr Shah stated that Bhavnagar has always been giving good cricketers at National and International level of Cricket.

Mr. Shah added that good infrastructure is base to develop good cricket and cricketers. He added that Saurashtra Cricket Association shall give all support to develop good modern Cricket Ground in Bhavnagar. Saurashtra Cricket Association always dedicated to develop Cricket Grounds and Cricketing facilities in Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Porbandar and all important Cricket centres of Saurashtra.

G L Kakadia Under 19 Cricket Tournament was also inaugurated during the function. The function was held at Cricket Academy, B. N. Virani Sports Complex, Bhavnagar.
